Trails for bikers and runners. Entrance is at 9600 Bandera Road (TX 16) opposite Braun Road. The park has 4.5 miles of walking trails of various difficulty levels. Restrooms, playground, and pavilion. |

Government Canyon State Natural Area is an approximately 8,622-acre area in Bexar County, just outside San Antonio. |
| McAllister Park |
Miles of trails. Usually every Sunday, about 7:10 am, runners gather for long runs. The place to be in San Antonio, if you're not in bed. Some of these runs go outside the park. |
| Brackenridge Park |
Small, but also a nice place to launch a run from, then go eat at one of the numerous great area restaurants. Home of the famous Wednesday Night Zoo run 2-mile races during daylight savings. |
| Woodlawn Lake Park |
Run around the edge of Woodlawn Lake. where there is a ~ 1.33 mile loop & you can run on dirt or the pavement. |
